A.A. Meetings in the East Midlands

Last Updated: Saturday, 04 December 2021 14:43

If you think you have a problem with alcohol you are welcome to attend an A.A. meeting. Newcomers are especially welcome - meetings are the heart and soul of Alcoholics Anonymous and new members are our life blood. All of the meetings in Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire are listed on this page. Click on the Post Code for a meeting to see a map of its location.

If you would like to speak to someone before you come to a meeting, call 0115 941 7100, 8:00am to midnight, or contact us through this web site.

A newcomer's introductory group aimed at people totally new to AA is held online (via Zoom) 4 times a week. This provides a stepping stone to AA meetings and enables you to find out more directly from 2 or 3 AA members. Details and access codes can be obtained from the helpline on 0115 941 7100

Meetings outside of the East Midlands

Notes:

  • An “Open” meeting (O) is one at which non-alcoholics are welcome to attend. For example, friends or family of an alcoholic may wish to attend with them for support or out of interest.
  • A “Closed” meeting (C) is a meeting for alcoholics and those who think they might have a drink problem.
  • (D) indicates a meeting suitable for disabled members.
  • A “newcomer” meeting is one which is considered good for people in early recovery.
  • “Big Book” or “literature” meetings are meetings which use A.A. literature to provide themes for the meeting.
  • “Step” meetings are ones which use the A.A. 12 step programme of recovery as a theme for the meetings.
  • "Online meetings" are those which meet through electronic media, not in a physical place.

Following the recent UK Government Briefing, Public Health England has confirmed
that from Monday 19th July 2021, gathering limits at support groups, including AA,
may increase subject to venue restrictions. (Different rules may apply within Scotland and Wales.)
Please continue to exercise caution and consider the guidance on risks associated
with COVID-19 and actions you can take to help you and others safe.

(Whilst it says 'gathering limits at support groups, including AA, may increase'
please check your venues information as it may be less.)

Where email addresses are included it is suggested an email confirmation of a seat is received before you travel.
